gellatlys + burkeys
ken’s best friends family made us a song – mrs. burkey. awesome. it was really cool. video clip to come…
trying to get him on board with the not throwing cake in each others face tradition.
alright, last pure wedding blog/post – i am trying to force myself out of the honeymoon bubble and get in gear. it’s been tough – relaxing – my major focus on enjoying time with Ken. it’s been 4 weeks since the wedding and i think i have done 4 days of work. good news there is only a loose timeline within the profession and things will happen when i am ready. welcoming myself back to reality as mrs. burkey!

October 18th, 2010friends & familyand i’ll cover as much as i can from wedding, tri-ing for madi, and rev3 140.6 – READY – GO!
Ken and I had a beautiful wedding day in College Park, GA @ a restaurant called the feedstore (or as Madison calls it – the chicken store). We were surrounded by family and friends all weekend. It was as perfect as I could have imagined it.
we started the day with a wedding 5k – run for love. it accidently turned in a wedding day 5 miler – opps. we got a little turned around on the peachtree city cart paths.
parts of our wedding party (from left to right) – anne ‘the cake cutter’ chz, brooke burkey, kens sister, j dunn and katy may – my girls representing YSU swim, the groom (and only male runner for love), the bride
photo of the ceremony lead by rev joemadison kaye gellatly – my flower girl
she was a precious darling all day. when she got to the hotel to ‘get fancy’ with my sister and i. she announced that her parents were being fancy today (a direct line from fancy nancy – love it!) and she started to pout a little that she wasn’t fancy as well. i heart her. madi’s flower girl practice can be seen here – the flower girl.
madi only threw two flowers while walking down the aisle. she got overwhelmed with all the people watching. i had to miss it either way – couldn’t risk ken seeing me because i peeked my head around the corner to see the flower girl.
just married!
one week of marriage and so far so good… except my blogging which was already lagging (at best) is even more awful and slow coming. one of these days, i’ll find that balance…lake lanier and rev3 140.6 race reports still to come.

May 24th, 2010bike, coaching, friends & family, news, sponsorsi am a once a month blogger. grrrr. i don’t mean for that to be the case, but it’s always crazy, and been trying, trying to put free time into updating the site in general. i finally wrote 1/2 a bio, the latter 1/2 still to come…
still yet to race more than a 5k for the season, i have been itching to race as i read all the race reviews and reports. knowing full well that it is not yet my time and that my fitness is not there yet. i think i’ve had coach wondering why i was a professional triathlete for the past 2 months. after a series of slow runs, very unimpressive ride results on the road bike, we had some break through workouts last week in both departments.
loving my new QR CD 0.1! here she is in all her glory -
all smiles on the new ride. big thanks to Morgan and all3sports.com for helping me get on PEARL (she has been named).
