today is national PINK day.  i feel it my obligation to not only spread the good news, but to do my part to show that pink is not simply a color, but a way of life.

for the past 8 years, i have been solely committed to PINK.  it was an accident at first.  one of my best friends bought me a pink purse for christmas.

i looked at her, and quesktioned, ‘pink?  really?’

‘i could see it,’ she replied.

step forward to 2009, 2 pink bikes, countless pink swim suits, more pink accessories than i care to admit, a pink bed, pink night stand, pink dressing table, the entire victoria secrets pink collection, i feel i have more than shown my dedication over the years.

through all the crazy shit, some of which was self induced but most of which just went on around me and kept my head spinning, PINK was constant.  lovely PINK things entered my life creating happiness even if only for a moment.  as i try to understand the last couple years of my life and make decisions as how to move forward, i am thankful that i had such a solid foundation to lean back on.  it may seem more practical to have a great family or a large support system, but in absence of these things…PINK created a common ground between myself and reality.  PINK became a topic of conversation, a way to define myself, that wasn’t sad.  triathlon was also very present, but triathlon is really more of a relationship.  triathlon will let you down, while pink is ever constant.

so today, i will be celebrating everything that is right in the world.

PINK love to you all.  happy PINK day.
